I am Instructor (Heyder Sabir Hasan) PhD. I finished high school literary branch, I have got low Diploma in English Language Teaching (ELT) gained it at the Teachers Central Institute in 1997.
I have got Bachelor Degree in ELT and Education (BED) (Salutatorian) gained it at the College of Basic Education at SU-E in 2009. I have also got Master Degree in Applied Linguistics and ELT in 2014 at SU-E. More over, I have got PhD in English Language/ Applied Linguistics Language Planning and Curriculum Development in 2021.
I am interested in Languages i.e. Philology and Philosophy.

- The undergraduates study four years eight semesters depending on Bologna process, the curriculum is supposed to make them modern teachers who are methodic and creative.

- The first two years of study focuses on the English language skills and education,, linguistics and literature. While the in the third and fourth years the concentration is on applied linguistics including teaching methodologies and learning strategies balancing theoretical and practical abilities.

The department opens post graduate studies, both MA and PhD in linguistics and Applied linguistics. The postgraduates will be a role model in their work places, as they hold higher and become knowledgeable experienced others.

- The department offers Master of Arts in English Language Linguistics and Applied Linguistics including teaching literature and translation. Many postgraduate students finish their degrees and enroll in the society public and private businesses.

- The department provides the second cycle Master’s Degree with 12 ECTS.
- Learning Outcomes:
- The graduates will be master English language objectives and contents in the fields of pure linguistics and applied linguistics.
- Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
- The department, relying on the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research regulations and recommendations opens PhD programs in Linguistics levels and applied linguistics branches.
- Specialization Areas:
- The main areas are pure linguistics including sound, structure, meaning and discourse analysis. Also, applied linguistics including language education, teaching , leaning assessment and evaluation, curriculum, classroom discourse analyses.
- ECTS Distribution:
- The department provides the third Cycle of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) with two papers’ research-based and 120 ECTS.
- Learning Outcomes:
- The post graduates will be PhD holders in English language Linguistics or Applied Linguistics in general. They will be linguistically skillful and scenically qualified balancing theory and practice.

- Zankoline (Government-Funded) Study
- Description: This option provides free tuition for students who meet the eligibility criteria and are accepted through the general centralized admission system, known as "Zankoline."
- Eligibility:
- Applicants must meet the academic requirements as set by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
- Selection is competitive and based on high school scores, particularly in literary subjects such as English Language.
- Benefits:
- Exemption from tuition fees.
- Access to full university services and facilities, including labs, libraries, and extracurricular activities.
- Opportunity to benefit from scholarships and other government-sponsored initiatives.
- Parallel Study (Self-Funded)
- Description: This option allows students who do not secure a Zankoline seat to pursue their studies by paying a tuition fee.
- Tuition Fee: 1,250,000 IQD per year.
- Eligibility:
- Students must meet the minimum academic requirements for admission to the English Language.
- This option offers an opportunity for students who did not secure a government-funded seat to study while paying the tuition fee.
